Newbies Paradise Rules and Regulations

Newbies Paradise is a community help website. As in every community, there are some rules to follow, so everyone can have a great time here.
You will find those rules below. If you wish to become -and remain- a member, you just have to follow them, that is pretty much all you are asked for. :o)

  1. Show people courtesy and respect. A post should start with basic greetings such as "Hello", or "Hi"; and end with your thanks.
Wrong : "I don't get what "orphans" is for, explain me!"
Right : "Hi, I am having trouble figuring out how the "orphans" property works, would you please provide some examples? Thanks in advance."

  2. Whatever the reason, do not flame, insult or be rude. If you have a problem with someone, solve it using the private messaging system. If you ever find someone is bothering you to the point you do not want to read from him again, just use the "block option" from your account settings.

  3. You must use your best grammar and spelling. Respect those who will read your posts. Arguments like "Well... I did not pay attention here because I was typing fast" are NOT valid. This means posts writtent using slang, SMS-style abbreviations and nonsensical grammar will be deleted.
Wrong : "Sup dudez howzit? I dunno wth ure gunna do to solve it quix, lemme tell ya it sux I are stuck here coz of this dang error msg.
Right : "Hey guys, I hope you will be able to help me with this error message. I am stuck at it, and would appreciate any help that would lead to a solution."

  4. Before you create a new topic, make sure it has not been dealt with before. Newbies Paradise features a powerful search engine indexed on the whole website, use it! Check if the problem you are experiencing has not been mentionned before, or if its solution does not lie in a tutorial!
Newbies will be willing to help, but if the same topic comes up too often, then they will be tired of goin over it again and again. ;o)

  5. Topics with illicit or illegal content are forbidden and will be deleted. This includes, but is not limited to: porn, hacking, and slandering. Moderators reserve the right to delete any post they think is illegal or illicit.

  6. We strongly suggest to stay away from trolling. A troll being an outrageous message posted to bait people to answer. Some examples of classic troll messages to avoid: "Linux is better than Windows", "Firefox is better than IE", "Gnome is better than KDE", "AC/DC is better than Metallica", "Cube is better than Matrix"...

  7. The decisions of moderators and administrators are final.. They decide what topic need to be closed or deleted. You must consider their feedback, or you may be site banned depending on the level of the offense.

  8. When it seems to you that a topic's nature looks offensive or outrageous, do not reply. It would only result in worsening things. This kind of behaviour is not appreciated at all, and moderators will be harsh. Just ignore it, and report to a moderator using the "Report to a Moderator" feature if you feel like you should. Again, do NOT answer such a post.
Wrong: "Wow, I can see where this goes... If I was a moderator, I would have locked the post yet!"
Right: Do not answer the post. Use the "Report to a Moderator" feature.

  9. It is forbidden to flood. This means you may not post several messages in a row in the same thread. Use the "Edit" feature if you want to add or change something to your post.
If your thread does not show up on the front page anymore, and you have had no answer, you are eligible to post again in it to bring it back up there 24 hours later. Moderators will let it go unless you would not respect the 24 hours delay.

  10. It is rigorously forbidden to create several accounts. If we ever find out that you are using several accounts for yourself, we will do our very best to site ban you once for all. This is considered to be an extremly serious offense that may lead us to even deny access to tutorials if you clearly intended to annoy members or moderators.
