I have copied and pasted the information from the begining portion in the tutorials. I have copied and pasted that information into my text editior and saved it like video did and when i open the page in my browser all the html code it shown in my browser window. I tried opening the file in both safari and in FireFox. Please let me know where i went wrong.
P.S. I also typed the information in to the text editor exacltly as it was in the tutorial window and it still did the same thing.
Thank you
Boomer

Hi,

First of all, this thread should be in the xhtml forum.

Now, what editor do you use? are you sure that you are saving the file as a .HTM / .HTML file?

it seems that the file is not save with a .html extension.
If your page is called index, when you save write : index.html

file save as, and put double quotes around the filename.
eg:
Code: Others
"index.html"

Computers are like air conditioned : they stop working when you open windows.
About tutorial validation: I deal with newly submitted tutos every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

I'm new to NP and I was looking for an answer to the same problem as I'm working with the first tutorial. Learned two things here: watch where you post
a question, and how to save in the text editor. Time well spent. :p

I'm trying to use Firefox instead of IE, but when I try to save my program I get an error that states ".html is not a valid win32 application" o_O . I tried saving it as an "HML" file, tried the double quotes (as recommended by an earlier post), etc. and I get the same error. Bottom line is that it works on IE but not Firefox. Can anyone help? Thanks :D

Hi,

Try opening firefox first, then click on file / open, and then select your html file.

Doh! Nuts.

Mmmh, donuts!
