MMORPG and you ?

Hello Newbies !
I want to know what you think about MMORPG.
I have played Lineage 2 for two years but I stop it because I have too lot of work with my studies and to my mind, games can addict you and "kill" your social mind.
It's my opinion but I want to know what you think about this,if you are playing MMORPG and which.

I love Lineage 2 but I haven't got much time to play these days

Me, I hate MMORPG... I played 3 hours Lineage II but I didn't addict.

I prefer play a FPS like COD2 or BF2...

After if you enjoy MMORPG... I'm happy for you

I never played mmorpg until today.
I began Lineage 2 today, it seems a good game but it isn't very beautiful graphically.

apparently, this game takes very much time, it can addict like said angemaster and i think tath isn't only lineage but all mmorpg. I saw guys who don't sleep the night to play to mmorpg. I will test Lineage 2 during my holidays, I'll have much time.

If you consider Guild wars as a MMORPG, I'm addicted!!! lol i really love this game

Ogame isn't an MMORPG.
But I like(d) Rizom. It's a good game, with beautiful graphics and sounds. but it's very "limited" (only ten levels).

You missed the role playing part of the definition angemaster, which generally means taking control of a character in a virtual world :-* I don't think either that Ogame is an MMORPG but some people do :/

I used to be addicted to mmorpg, but I'm not any more... unfortunately I think that such games can really become the main thing of your life and it can be dangerous (-> no social life any more ?), but you have to control yourself ! It's nice to play several hours a day, but if you stay an entire night in front of your screen, there is a problem
I used to play "The fourth coming", it was sooo good ! I hope I will play again one day, but now I too busy...

The best thing to do is to keep playing but to take care of your social life and your friends, 'cause it the most important thing

Now I play small games like Ogame (I say small because you can play 5 minutes a day and it's okay!), and I'm still alive

I often play MMORPGs, but only when I have time for it (it means after homeworks ^^).

I play different MMORPGs such as :

Ragnarök Online
Lineage 2
Granado Espada (on japanese servers ^^)
Silkroad Online

These are the MMORPGs I mainly play.

Not playing to any MMORPGS->not addicted

I 've been a pur addict for Star Wars Galaxiues and I've know my better playing/relationship experience on the web.
Not a great game but a great background, great players, great aventure for my own !

Me, I don't play MMORPG because I don't especially like that, my computer is not enough powerfull because my graphic card is too much old (It doesn't support Track Mania Nations ), and I prefer surfing on the Web instead of playing stupidly with games, but it's just my opinion, I think yours are very interesting anyway

I think Petrus6 just named Track Mania Nations as an example to give us an idea of his computer's specificities.

And it's not because you play MMORPG that you are addicted. So, please stop saying "I'm not addicted, I don't play MMORPGs". You can play MMORPGs without spending all your time and money on them.

In my opinion the best thing to do is to play such games with some of your irl friends, like that you may always keep a link to your real life, and that's much more exciting, I mean you can do things you would never do with other players you don't know, that's great !

Anyway, you can be addicted and keep control, for me being addicted is different that being a no life

I started playing World of Warcraft 2 months ago ... and it didn't change a thing in my life ...
All you have to do is to stay in control of yourself ... or at least try ...

I just don't let the game be the most important thing in my life ... even if I'm crazy about that game !

It's more to be considered as a MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game / not to mix up with Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game).

I'm not personally an addict to MMORPGs. The thing is, even if I find an interresting and fun game, I always get bored after a few hours of gaming, mostly because it's the same.
Although my brother is "addicted" to Wow, I agree this is one of the few MMORPG I actually like to play.

I used to play quite a bit on Ragnarok Online, but not enough really to ever get anywhere near the best players.

I don't really play much on the computer at the moment, but I do play a little on Ogame (only enough really to keep my account going, and I've only got one planet so I don't spend to much time playing).

I started both of them because I've got friends (in real life) that I could meet in-game, and I only got slightly addicted.

You could say Ogame is a RPG, as you are an 'emperor'.

I used to play WoW too... played it for 1½, i liked the game, but i wasn't that addicted to it (real life [what they call RL on WoW]) was still much more important to me, so it was too much money for no reasons (like 10h a week...)

I saw some badly addicted guys on that, people who completly runed their lifes, lost job, lost gf/bf over that game... MMORPG's are good, you just need to be able to draw a line between it and your real life and not let the game take over.
