Accessibility policy

As we created Newbies Paradise, we wanted it to be accessible to the majority of you. This can be summarised in 3 points:

• The site is structured: every page of the site is classified by "category". A tree view specifies your current position and lets you go back to the previous categories(on the top of the site).
• The site has numerous shortcuts: these shortcuts are listed on this page. By learning to use them, you will be able to access more quickly the information you need.
• The site is customisable: you can adapt the size of the characters and change completely the design for an improved reading comfort.

Whether you are visually deficient, or simply consulting the site from a mobile device (cell phone, PDA, ...), you should be able to fully take advantage of Newbies Paradise.

Keyboard shortcuts

Everybody doesn't necessarily have the possibility to browse on a site with a mouse. When you only have a keyboard, it can be practical to use these shortcuts.

The method to use a shortcut depends on which operating system you have:

• Windows: press on the Alt, Shift keys and on the shortcut number simultaneously. With Internet Explorer, you will have to press Enter key to validate.
  With Opera, the combination of keys is Esc + Shift + shortcut number.
• Mac OS: press at the same time on the Ctrl (or Apple) and on the shortcut number.
• Linux: for the Galeon, Mozilla and Firefox browsers, press on the Alt key and on the shortcut number simultaneously.
  With Konqueror, press on the Ctrl key and then on the shortcut number.

Avoiding links

This site contains 2 quick access links, on the very top of the pages. These links allow you to go directly:

• To the menu
• To the content

The content of the site is placed before the main menu. This allows you to access the content without having to glance through the same menus each time.
Those links are particularly useful for blind people, and for people using a mobile device such as a PDA or a cell phone.

Characters size

The size of the text is defined on a relative way on the whole site. This means you can adapt the size of the characters as often as you want, without any problem.

Here are 2 methods to modify the size of the characters:

• Ctrl + mouse scroll wheel under Windows, or Apple and + and Apple and - under Mac
• "Displaying" menu / Text size"

Changing the design

The Newbies Paradise design is entirely customisable. Therefore, you can change the colour of the text or the background for a better contrast, but also change the font or even the position of the menus on your screen.

To choose a new design, you have to go to the designs page.
Your new design will be saved in your account information if you are a member of the site, or in a cookie if you are not registered.
